Man taken to hospital with potentially serious injuries after suspected stabbing in Milton Road, Gravesend

A man has been taken to hospital after suffering serious injuries in a suspected stabbing.

Police were called to reports of an assault in Milton Road, Gravesend, just before noon today.

An ambulance, two ambulance cars and an air ambulance also attended the scene, with the helicopter landing in a field at nearby Gravesend Rugby Football Club.

The man, who suffered multiple wounds, was conscious - although his injuries were said to be "potentially serious" by a South East Coast Ambulance spokesman.

He was treated at the scene before being airlifted to King's College Hospital in London.

A police spokeswoman said his injuries were consistent with knife wounds and that officers remained at the scene to gather evidence.

The condition and age of the man is currently not known.
