Matthew Williams, 41, received full police honours at the service held at St George's Church, Gravesend at 1.45pm.

PC Williams, known as Matt, had served with the Metropolitan Police, based in Greenwich, since 2005.

More than 100 uniformed colleagues formed a guard of honour outside the church as the funeral procession drew slowly along West Street, led by two police officers on horseback. Officers saluted as the coffin was carried into church, followed by Daisy and her mother Fiona.

Mr Williams, born in Essex, lived in Cutmore Street, Gravesend, but grew up in New Ash Green with his parents Sue and Paul, and sister Caroline.

He died of a heart attack on Monday, April 5.

His wife Fiona told the packed church that Matt had been her "best friend" but that Daisy was the "sun and the moon" to him.
