The only all girls football club in Gravesham has a new kit thanks to a funeral home.

The Co-operative Funeralcare in Milton Road Gravesend kick started Gravesham Girls and Ladies Football Club’s under 16s squad’s season off with a new kit in the traditional yellow and black colours.

Janet Thorndycraft, manager of the Co-operative Funeralcare, said: “As a business at the heart of the community, we wanted to give something back to the local community and this was an ideal opportunity."

The team are seen here with club manager Chris Toon, left, and coach Phil Reeves.

Chris Toon said: “We are extremely grateful for the sponsorship of the squad’s new strip. The girls hope the new kit will bring them luck for the 2012/2013 season.”
