Police name man killed in van crash

A MAN who received fatal injuries when the van in which he was a passenger crashed into a wall has been identified by Kent Police.

He was 34-year-old Christopher Homden who lived at Trafalger Road, Gravesend. The tragedy happened last Friday in Old Road East, Gravesend, at around 12.30am.

Police say he was trapped in the white LDV van for about 30 minutes. Ambulance crews from Medway, Northfleet and Dartford worked with firefighters to free him. He was later pronounced dead on arrival at Darent Valley Hospital.

The 27-year-old male driver of the van was also taken to hospital as a precaution.

Officers from the serious collision investigation unit are continuing their appeal for witnesses.
