Serious assault after altercation in store

KENT Police have appealed for witnesses to an assault which left a 26-year-old decorator with a serious eye injury.

The incident happened outside the Spar store in Milton Road , Gravesend, at around 7.30pm on Thursday, May 24.

The victim, from Gravesend, was attacked by three men who punched him, causing a serious injury to his jaw as well as an eye socket.

One of the men is described as in his late 20s to early 30s, stocky, muscular and clean shaven. He was wearing a light coloured t-shirt.

A second man is about the same age and of Polish or eastern European origin. He is around 5ft 10in tall and was wearing a dark blue or black sports jacket. Police have no description of the third man.

PC Geoff McCreery, who is leading the investigation, said: “There was an altercation within the shop between two groups which resulted in this serious assault outside.

“The injuries to the victim are very serious and I would appeal to anyone with information to come forward.”
