GRAVESEND & Northfleet Football Club have been awarded a grant by the Football Stadia Improvement Fund to help with the redevelopment of Stonebridge Road.

The club will receive 50 per cent of the estimated £70,000 cost of rebuilding the Northfleet End of the ground.

Brian Kilcullen, Gravesend chairman, told the club's official website: "We're delighted to get a grant towards necessary safety works.

"We've had great support from the FSIF in the past and are pleased they've been able to assist us again."

The club have been given previous grants totalling £146,000 by the FSIF for work on the ground.
