Liam Enver-Marum is delighted to be back at Ebbsfleet after his month’s trial at Stevenage didn’t go well.

The 24-year-old striker went to Broadhall Way with boss Liam Daish’s blessing but said: "I wasn’t made to feel welcome, didn’t feel I fitted in there and thought it was best to leave as quickly as I could.

"The gaffer made it clear that he wanted me back and I am delighted."

Enver-Marum, who claimed last season at Fleet was his best ever in football, claimed he could have had a hat-trick in the 1-1 draw at Maidstone on Tuesday.

He said: "I don’t know what was up with me. Normally I eat those sort of chances but hopefully they will come when the league starts."

Despite things not working out, Enver-Marum has no regrets about going to Stevenage. He added: "I am not getting any younger so it was a great opportunity but sometimes things don’t happen the way you want them to.

"I just have to rebuild, look to have another good season and hopefully I might find myself in the Football League one day."
