Hundreds of babies dress up as superheroes to raise thousands for Tommy's charity

Babygrows and bibs were made redundant for the day as parents from Gravesham and Dartford dressed their little ones in capes and masks for a sponsored superhero session at Baby Sensory.

The franchise, which offers development programmes from birth to 13 months, has teamed up with the Tommy’s charity to raise £375,000 for research into the causes of miscarriages, premature births and stillbirths.

More than 250 babies took part in the fun which ran through the whole of June at South Darenth village hall and even saw them learning a little sign language.

Sarah Dalton, owner of Baby Sensory Gravesend, said: “The class was uplifting, engaging and magical.

“The babies learnt how to sign ‘Super Hero’, they saw shooting stars, they (and their parents) got their weekly dose of exercise through doing a Baby Superhero Dance, they were amazed to see a UFO flying by in the night sky, and their little minds were wowed when their brains started to understand the concept of a 6ft bouncing Sun!”

Baby Sensory Gravesend will be taking its summer classes at a brand new Bluewater store and is looking forward to a summer full of festivities with themed parties celebrating the Olympics and a trip to the seaside for a baby sailor session.
