Suspicious garden fire takes hold

Another suspicious fire has been started in Gravesend.

Thames-side fire crews have passed information to police after a fence was set alight in Jubilee Crescent, Gravesend last night.

The fire quickly spread to a shed and a tree and started around 6.15pm. The occupant of the house opposite the fire fled to a neighbours as the fire service battled the flames.

Thames-side firefighters said there was no damage to the house.

It follows a spate of suspicious fires in the Kings Farm estate, Gravesend, in one night where two derelict houses awaiting demolition were set on fire, shortly before a lock-up garage caught fire.
