Gravesend teen arrested after 15-year-old boy approached by group in St Aidan's Way and attacked for mobile phone

A teenager was arrested after a 15-year-old boy was attacked by a gang of 10 for his mobile phone in Gravesend.

The boy was walking in St Aidan’s Way at around 4.30pm on Thursday March 4.

He was then approached by a group of 10 teenagers.

One of the teens demanded the victim hand over his mobile phone and, when he refused, the boy was attacked.

The suspects then stole the phone before leaving the scene.

A 15-year-old local boy was later arrested on suspicion of robbery and then released pending further investigation.

Investigators are now issuing an appeal for witnesses.

PC Amit Dadwal said: "Our officers are continuing to carry out enquiries in the area including the review of any potential CCTV footage, and we would like to hear from anybody with information that may assist the investigation."
