DETECTIVES are questioning two people in connection with the fatal stabbing of a 31-year-old man near a park in Gravesend last month.

The victim, Kamaljit Singh Kolan, died in hospital after being found seriously injured at the entrance to Gordon Park on July 10.

Police officers had been called there after reports of a fight involving three men, all described as Asian.

Police say they have arrested a 36-year-old woman and 39-year-old man in connection with the killing. The arrests were made at about 4.30am today at addresses in Gravesend. A Kent Police spokeswoman said the pair were being questioned at police stations in the county.

The dead man lived at Sidcup. Officers believe many people may have witnessed the incident because it happened in daylight near a park.

They are continuing to appeal for witnesses who saw what happened to contact them. The incident room number is 01622 654321.
