Daish forced to rotate side for cup tie

LIAM DAISH: Happy with current squad
LIAM DAISH: Happy with current squad

Gravesend & Northfleet v Slough Town

GRAVESEND can move closer to an FA Trophy final appearance on Saturday when Ryman Premier Division strugglers Slough Town visit Stonebridge Road in the fifth round.

Fleet boss Liam Daish will be forced into making changes for the tie as goalkeeper James Pullen and defender Nathan Bunce are both cup-tied.

Diash has confirmed he is happy with the squad he has inherited at the club and is not looking to make wholesale changes. He has been quick to make an impact since taking over from Andy Ford with four points from his first two games.

He said: "I’ve inherited a side that is full of good characters. This is a decent squad and some lads are unlucky not to start. I could have got some players in when I arrived but all the players here deserve a fresh start.

"I’m not going to make changes for change’s sake - that’s not me. I’m certainly not looking to move people on because everyone at this club is pulling in the right direction.

"The best thing is that the lads are starting to enjoy it. If you can get players working hard for 90 minutes and enjoying their football then you’ve got a decent base to work from."
