Decisions go against Ebbsfleet

Woking 1 Ebbsfleet United 0

EBBSFLEET UNITED lost ground on the Blue Square Premier play-off places after suffering a 1-0 defeat against Woking on Thursday.

Fleet dominated large periods of the match but were made to pay when Matt Pattison was left unmarked to convert Danny Bunce’s cross on 20 minutes.

The visitors did have the ball in the net just before the hour mark, but Raphael Nade’s header was ruled out for offside, a decision which angered Fleet manager Liam Daish.

James Smith had a header cleared off the line and Fleet had a strong penalty appeal turned down when the ball appeared to hit Jay Gasson’s arm.

At the other end, Adam Green and Liam Maram went close to a second as Woking held on.

Daish said: “Anyone who watched the game would havee been impressed with us. I thought Raphael was level and I thought if it was the benefit of the doubt you give it to the forwards.

“I don’t have time to go to through all the contentious decisions against us, else we would be here all night. We have to take them on the chin and move on.”
