Defender Haydn Hollis leaves Ebbsfleet United to join Dorking Wanderers

Experienced defender Haydn Hollis has left Ebbsfleet to join Dorking Wanderers for the remainder of the season.

Hollis, who turned 31 last month, had featured 12 times for the Fleet this season and made 47 appearances in total after joining at the start of last season from Chesterfield.

He was part of the National League South title-winning squad and a club statement thanked his contribution, noting: “All of us at the Fleet thank Haydn for his time with us and all his endeavours in helping us to the league title last season.

“He has been a big character on and off the pitch in his time at the club and we wish him the very best for the future.”

On joining Dorking, Hollis said: “Looking forward to getting started. It’s great to be here and get it all done, Dorking is a very ambitious club that I’m delighted to be part of it.

“Hopefully I play a big part moving forwards and contribute to the club being as successful as they have been in the past.”

Hollis will be playing under outspoken Dorking manager Marc White, who had been keeping tabs on the defender for some time.

“We’ve always had close links with Ebbsfleet and therefore watched Haydn on quite a few occasions last year,” said White.

“We’ve kept track of the data and stats on Haydn, who had an exceptional year last season in that title-winning Ebbsfleet team. Haydn is a left-footed centre back, 6ft4in, and someone who I can see very much fitting into how we play and what we continue to build here at the football club.”
