ANKLE INJURY: Charlie MacDonald
ANKLE INJURY: Charlie MacDonald

Accrington Stanley v Gravesend & Northfleet

GRAVESEND manager Liam Daish is hopeful striker Charlie MacDonald will be fit for the trip to Accrington Stanley in the Nationwide Conference on Saturday.

Daish confirmed that the forward's ankle injury is not as bad as first feared.

The six-goal striker was stretchered off during the 2-0 victory against Forest Green on Tuesday, but his boss is not expecting him to stay on the sidelines for long.

Daish said: "Charlie's not as bad as we thought. He can move his ankle, there isn't much swelling and we'll monitor it over the next few days."

Fellow striker Onome Sodje returns after completing his three-match ban but Daish is likely to name the same starting 11 if MacDonald is declared fit.
