Fleet complete double signing

LIAM DAISH has confirmed the signing of Phil Starkey and Chris McPhee on the eve of Ebbsfleet United's first ever competitive match.

Daish said: "Both players are able to add to the depth we have in the squad and they bring versatility to our playing resources which will be invaluable during the forthcoming season."

Starkey, who most usually plays as a right-sided defender, will be 20 next month. He has been a professional with Crystal Palace.

Striker McPhee made his Brighton debut aged only 16 at Swansea in 1999 and played for Aldershot and Swindon on loan before joining Torquay at the start of last season.

The 24-year-old featured in the Fleet's last pre season match at Eastbourne.
