Ebbsfleet manager Liam Daish has signed prolific Cambridge City forward Michael Gash in a move the club's fans have help to fund.

MyFC member Tom Baker inspired 1,000 supporters from across the world to each donate £20 or more to the club's playing budget to cover transfers and wages this season.

The target has been met and Fleet chief executive David Davis said: "The total deal to bring Michael to Ebbsfleet is worth £20,000, and the player's wages will fall within the weekly budget already set by MyFootballClub members.

"This transfer was made possible by the additional funds in the playing budget which were raised through supporters’ donations.

"This is a brilliant example of how MyFC's international network of members can work with the club's long term supporters to help strengthen the squad.”

Gash joined Fleet on their recent West Country tour and, after taking a close look at the player who scored 26 Blue Square South goals for City last season, Daish decided to bring him to Stonebridge Road.

“I am delighted that we have managed to bring Michael to the club.” said Daish. “He enjoyed his time with us on trial and he is a proven goalscorer. He is the right type of player for us at the right age (21).

"He chose Ebbsfleet over other options and we look forward to working with him to prepare him for full time Blue Square Premier football.”
