Fleet's Ford full of confidence

AS HIS team prepares for Saturday's trip to seventh-placed Northwich Victoria, Gravesend & Northfleet boss Andy Ford says they have nothing to fear when playing the top sides in the Conference this year.

Despite being without a number of key players through injury, Fleet have adapted reasonably well since their promotion last season as they currently sit in 14th position in the table.

Ford said: "We have no-one to fear in this division. We have played Yeovil, Dagenham and Doncaster and haven't looked out of place. We'll be looking for another good performance this weekend.

"However, we are struggling with injuries at the moment and even though Eliot Martin and Justin Skinner were on the bench against Doncaster on Tuesday, we wouldn't have put them on even if we'd gone down to 10 men."

Gravesend's Paul Sturgess and Liam Hatch are expected to be fit after picking up head injuries, while Paul Booth is available for selection again after he missed the 2-2 draw with Doncaster due to a death in the family.

Gravesend (from): Wilkerson, Cole, Sturgess, Lee, Watts, McKimm, Strouts, Kwashi, Jackson, Hatch, Stadhart, Wilkins, Booth, Parker, Martin, Skinner.
