Ebbsfleet United boss Garry Hill hints at changes for visit of FC Halifax Town

Garry Hill is set to shake things up when Ebbsfleet host FC Halifax on Saturday.

So far he’s only made enforced team changes since replacing Daryl McMahon as manager.

But having now worked with the squad for two weeks, he’s ready to give other players a go.

Hill said: “I don’t know the reasons and I’ve not asked the reasons but I find it quite strange that people like Michael Cheek, Sean Shields, Jack King, Lawrie Wilson and Bagasan Graham have not been involved a lot. I find it quite staggering.

“I’m not here to interfere or pass remarks on what has or hasn’t happened but they’re all involved now.

“The slate was clean when we came in and we’re showing that in respect of giving people opportunities.

“We’re trying to look at players as well as get results. We’re quite experienced, we know the league well and we’re seeing things where we’ve got to be better. That area is up the top end.

“Hopefully that works with the players in the squad at the moment and we go from there

“We’ve got to turn round and go with what we’ve got at the moment. Not everyone’s started in every game and we’re not frightened to make changes.

“You see certain things in training. Some players look a million dollars in training but they can look lost out on a big football pitch.”

Ebbsfleet, sitting 14th in the National League, would go above Halifax with a win at Stonebridge Road.

But the visitors knocked Morecambe out of the FA Cup in midweek and will travel in confident mood.

Defender Kenny Clark (calf) is a doubt for Fleet after missing out on Tuesday night.
