Ebbsfleet United boss Daryl McMahon warns Maidenhead United have the players to threaten their away record

Ebbsfleet put their unbeaten away record on the line at Maidenhead on Tuesday night.

The National League South leaders have taken 40 of a possible 48 points on the road so far this season and victory in Berkshire could send them 14 points clear.

Sutton and Maidstone, the sides in second and third, both have three games in hand and Fleet boss Daryl McMahon knows lots can still change between now and the end of the season.

He said: "There’s a long way to go still. There’s pressure on us and there’s pressure on them.

"They’ve got to win the games in hand. Everyone’s assuming they already have but they’ve got to go and win the games. It’s a difficult league.

"They’ve got to go to some difficult places and we’ve got to go to some difficult places as well - Bath and Maidenhead this week and then home to Hemel.

"There’s difficult games everywhere, with people playing for different stuff, so the league won’t be done for a little while yet."

Alan Devonshire's Maidenhead go into the game ninth, seven points outside the play-offs.

McMahon said: "Maidenhead are a very good side. They’ve got a good manager and they were very good down here earlier in the season, particularly in the second half.

"Dave Tarpey’s a very good player, he’s got good movement and he played really well in the second half against us. They’ve got some good players, James Comley from St Albans is a decent player, so it’ll be a difficult game.

"We’ve got a good (away) record but we’ve got to go there and work hard."

Fleet's leading scorer Matt Godden is a doubt for the game after coming off with a tight hamstring just 11 minutes into the 2-0 win over Gosport on Saturday, while defender Matt Fish is suspended.

Danny Haynes has joined Boreham Wood on loan until the end of the season.
