Captain Paul McCarthy hailed the club’s “incredible” supporters following Ebbsfleet's win over Torquay on Saturday.

The 37-year-old helped guide Fleet to a 1-0 win over Paul Buckle’s side.

Afterwards he climbed the 107 steps to pick up the FA Trophy alongside injured team-mate Danny Slatter.

McCarthy said: “The supporters were incredible. They were a credit to the club and to the county. From the first minute we went out to warm up they were cheering us on. Our success made it even more special.”
