Ebbsfleet United midfielder Dean Rance signs for Aldershot Town

Dean Rance has signed for Aldershot after leaving Ebbsfleet United.

The midfielder was Fleet's longest-serving player having been one of Steve Brown's first signings following the KEH takeover in 2013.

Rance made 240 appearances for Ebbsfleet but he'll be lining up against them in the National League this season.

The former Gillingham youngster followed Brown from Dover six years ago and quickly established himself in the Fleet side.

He survived managerial changes and squad overhauls, scoring 10 goals during his time at Stonebridge Road and turning down offers to leave while the club was still in National League South.

It was Rance's spot-kick which knocked Aldershot out of the play-offs in 2018 as Fleet went through after a penalty shootout.

He's out of contract this summer and was one of several players not offered a new deal when Ebbsfleet published their retained list in May.
