Danny Kedwell says Daryl McMahon will go a long way in management.

Kedwell has been impressed with Ebbsfleet’s rookie boss since succeeding Jamie Day at the end of last season.

The striker worked under big-name managers Peter Taylor and Martin Allen during his Football League days at Gillingham.

And he sees qualities in McMahon that will take the 31-year-old far.

Kedwell said: “He’s a top manager and he’ll go a long way in the game. He’s the youngest manager I’ve ever had but he’s got everything.

“His training’s brilliant and his man-management is superb. I rate him highly.

“I’m sure he’s going to go a lot higher – and hopefully with Ebbsfleet.”

The back injury suffered when Kedwell collided with a perimeter wall against Hemel Hempstead in February is behind him and he added: "I’ve come through every pre-season session so far and I’m raring to go."

Fleet visit Welling on Saturday (3pm) followed by a trip to Tonbridge on Tuesday (7.45pm).
