THE Bennetts British Superbike Championship title will be decided by a thrilling three-way shoot out at the final round of the season at Brands Hatch on October 12-14.

Defending champion Ryuichi Kiyonari led the standings at the penultimate round, but his 41 point advantage was cut to 37 over his HM Plant Honda team-mate Jonathan Rea when he crashed out of the opening race.

Japan's Kiyonari is ready for the final showdown in three weeks time.

He said: "I am confident for the last round.

"I want more race wins and my last chance is at Brands Hatch. I like the Indy circuit best and I am looking forward to racing there.

"The championship is still not finished so I will be focussing hard to gain the best results possible."

For Jonathan Rea this will be his final BSB appearance for at least three years as he steps up to the World Supersport Championship at the end of the season and he desperately wants to end the year on a high.

Rea said: "I'm looking forward to Brands Hatch as the championship still hasn't been won and I'd like to make a lasting impression on the BSB field.

"Next year I will be heading off to the world stage but I would like nothing more than to win at the final round to thank my team for working so hard all season.

"It's going to be tough as there are many strong riders who will all want to end their season on a high but I will be pushing hard and hopefully we'll see some good racing action."

Leon Haslam on the Airwaves Ducati is also in with a mathematical shot of securing his first ever BSB title for the second consecutive year.

Haslam lies just four points adrift of Rea and after a double win last time out the 'Pocket Rocket' is more determined than ever.

Haslam said: “The championship is still there and I can’t wait to get to Brands. It’s about winning races now; I have got three wins from the last four races so I will take that confidence with me.

"The Indy circuit is normally a good circuit for Airwaves Ducati, anything can happen.”
