Army probe shooting range accident

ARMY officials have launched an investigation after a soldier was accidentally shot in the leg.

The Ministry of Defence has confirmed it is looking into the incident, which happened on ranges between Hythe and Lydd on Thursday.

A national newspaper claimed an army captain hit a sergeant, who was acting as as a range safety supervisor, during shooting practise.

A spokesman for the MoD said: "We can confirm a soldier did receive a graze and an investigation is underway."
