A JOGGER who collapsed and died while running along the seafront in a Kent town has been identified.

He was 57-year-old Richard Kulbe, from Colorado in America, who was staying in England for a month with his wife. His body is to be repatriated.

The emergency services were called after Mr Kulbe was seen to be in difficulties while jogging in Princes Parade at Hythe on Good Friday.

Members of Folkestone Running Club, who were marshalling a 10-mile race between Folkestone and Hythe involving more than 500 runners, gave Mr Kulbe first aid and assistance. He was not taking part in the event.

An ambulance crew and the air ambulance arrived but Mr Kulbe died at the scene. An inquest has been opened into his death.

A post mortem has been carried out and a full inquest date will be set when test results are returned.
