Accountant stays to found her firm

PAULA Comley has achieved her first ambition of setting up a chartered accountants' practice - in her adopted town, Folkestone.

She moved to Kent from Norfolk for family reasons and gained her final professional qualification with an Ashford firm. Because of demand and the area's potential, she decided to stay, applied for her practising certificate and established an office at the Ingles Manor Business Centre in Castle Hill Avenue, Folkestone, where her firm Comley Connor became a reality.

Ms Comley said: "I am very keen to provide clients, especially small businesses, with a cost-effective service, efficiently executed. My team is operating a five-day turnaround for draft accounts and that is a target I am seeking to maintain.

"Along with the traditional disciplines offered by firms of accountants, Comley Connor is also providing a small business advisory service and management consultancy which is particularly aimed at the leisure, hospitality, casino and service industries."
