ROGER Burge is Eurotunnel's new finance chief.

Mr Burge joined the Channel Tunnel operator in 1992 and has been group treasurer since 1998.

He studied in London and Reims, France, where he graduated in 1988 with a Diplome des Etudes Superieures Europeennes de Management and an honours degree in European Business Administration.

He spent a further year in France with a subsidiary of the Spie-Batignolles Group. After returning to the UK in 1989, he joined NatWest Markets, working as a corporate dealer in the City.

He then moved back into corporate treasury, taking up the position of assistant treasurer at Eurotunnel in January 1992.

Mr Burge has been extensively involved in Eurotunnel's financial restructuring and policy of active balance sheet management. He completed the Association of Corporate Treasurers MCT qualification in 2001
