Firm invests in losing pounds

PROTEIN is the antidote to piling on the pounds, according to an Ashford company.

DistriSafe Ltd, based at Willesborough Industrial Estate, has launched a new weight loss programme, which it hopes will take Britain and the rest of Europe by storm.

The Yes high protein meal replacement plan is already popular in the United States because it reduces body fat while maintaining muscle, DistriSafe director Michel De Cloedt claims.

He chose Ashford for his head office because of its excellent links with the continent. As well as distributing the plan throughout the UK, France, Spain and Italy, the company is looking to expand into Holland and Finland.

Jan Post, director of Gavandol business support services in North Street, Ashford, was one of Britain's first satisfied customers. She joined Mr De Cloedt, celebrity Tara Palmer Tomkinson and Valerie Hassett, director of Natural Distribution Ltd, Ashford-based main wholesaler for Yes, at the UK launch.

Mrs Post said: "When I heard about the Yes weight loss plan I have to admit I was sceptical, having tried lots of diets before. But when I saw the range of foods and drinks and that it included the odd chocolate bar I decided to give it a go.

"I couldn't believe it. The weight was just dropping off and, although they take a bit of getting used to, I quickly got into the swing of making up my foods. I'm sure I lost some of the weight using the shaker!"

Mr De Cloedt and his staff are also busy formulating other high protein products and are committed to a future in Ashford.

Yes will soon be on sale in pharmacies. Meanwhile dieters can phone free on 0800 072 8072 for more information or to place an order.
