REPRESENTATIVES from the Hop Farm Country Park in Paddock Wood were among 30 West Kent businesses who received Investors in People accreditation at an awards ceremony at Turkey Mill, Maidstone.

Footballing legend Sir Trevor Brooking was guest speaker presented the Hop Farm and Tonbridge and Malling Council’s Leisure Services Business Unit with their awards.

Sir Trevor entertained his audience with reflections on his footballing career including his time with West Ham United and the England squad, before becoming a TV commentator and then taking on his present position as FA Director of Football.

Congratulating the awards winners on their achievement Sir Trevor said: "When you are managing a team it is important to be a coach and a tactician; when you are a part of a team it is important to have confidence, to show your ability and to be loyal."

The Hop Farm started working towards the nationally recognised IIP accreditation in June 2003, completing the award in May. Melissa Hards, personnel manager, said: "Gaining IIP recognition recognises the achievements of both the management team and staff as a whole."
