THIRTY new jobs will be created by the return of a high street giant to a Kent town.

After months of denying it, Marks & Spencer has finally confirmed that it has signed on the dotted line and will be opening an outlet store at the Dockside Outlet Shopping Centre in Chatham this October.

The news has been welcomed by the centre’s retail manager Anthony Sutton.

He said: "We are delighted to welcome the only Marks & Spencer outlet within the local area. It is a great offering for us and we are sure that shoppers will be thrilled with the new arrival."

The store will offer a range of Marks & Spencer clothing including womenswear, lingerie, menswear and children’s wear as well as home, and beauty products.

Mark Ramsey, area manager for Marks and Spencer, said: “We are looking forward to welcoming shoppers to our new store."
