New family law partner at Girlings

LEADING East Kent law firm Girlings has welcomed a new partner, Lorraine Smith, to its Family Law Department.

Ms Smith, who will be based at Girlings' Canterbury office in Dane John, joined the firm in 1995, and worked in the Ramsgate and Margate offices before coming to Canterbury two years ago. A specialist in family law, she concentrates on the financial aspects of cohabitation and pre-nuptial agreements, divorce and separation, as well as family business matters. Her appointment increases Girlings' team of Family Law specialists to six.

Francis Elton, Chairman of Girlings, said: "We are delighted that Lorraine has accepted the invitation to join the partnership. Family law is a fast growing area of the practice and Lorraine's skills and experience are already an invaluable asset to the firm. Her well-deserved promotion adds strength to the team and reflects our commitment to developing the legal services we offer private clients."
