MARC VIERCANT: Relishing his new opportunity

MARSTON Hotels has appointed Marc Viercant as general manager at its four-star luxury seaside Hythe Imperial hotel in Hythe.

Having worked at the 100-bedroom Hythe Imperial eight years ago as deputy general manager, Marc returns to the hotel after managing Weetwood Hall in Leeds, the Thistle Haydock and Ramada Leeds Parkway.

He is responsible for the operational running of the hotel, forecasting budgets and managing 120 staff, as well as looking after the hotel's nine hole, 18 tee links golf course and the 100-acre Marston Wood, which is used for corporate entertainment and team-building.

Marc said: “Running a 100 acre wood is not something that hotel managers usually take on, but it's a fantastic facility for the corporate events market and I'm relishing the opportunity.”

Marston Hotels is the fastest-growing (and highest star-rated) independently-owned hotel company in Britain.

The group is a collection of 15 individually-styled four star properties. Marston Hotels, which boasts 15 AA dining rosettes and 29 RAC dining awards, won the AA's Hotel Group of the Year in 2002/03, and the RAC equivalent, the Credit to the Industry Award, in 2002.
