Online CV service to answer skills shortage

THE Kent Messenger Group's online job matching service now boasts nearly 10,000 live CVs from people searching for jobs.

Employers are using CV Bank to overcome skills shortages by homing in on the best online CVs to fill their vacancies.

Thousands of jobseekers have been registering their CVs with CV Bank, making their details and skills available to potential employers all over the county.

Employers buy access to the CV Bank database, which allows them to easily match candidates to vacancies.

When a company has a vacancy, the CV Bank system is able to search all the CVs on the database and match the skills required for the job with the most appropriate candidates.

It works on a points system. Each CV is given a score out of 1,000 and the higher the score the closer the person matches the requirements for the job.

Potential candidates are then automatically emailed the matching job description.

Companies also have the option of being allocated a username and password, which enable them to access the database themselves and select their own potential candidates.

Chris Parker, senior advertising manager at the KM Group said: "For companies looking to recruit in Kent we can offer a wealth of talent from our job seeker database which is now close to 10,000 people in Kent alone.

"I urge job seekers to register with CV bank and help us match them with the thousands of jobs that we carry in the KM and KentJobs.co.uk every week."
