LAW firm Furley Page Solicitors, based in Canterbury, has attracted top employment law specialist Rory O'Connor. Formerly head of Ernst and Young's Employment Law Unit, Rory joins Furley Page as a partner and head of employment. He moves to Kent after 16 years working in London.

At Ernst and Young, he headed and developed a unit of senior lawyers working with large multinationals tackling complex issues including multi-jurisdictional change programmes, expatriate employment structures, severance, redundancy programmes and the introduction of bonus and other reward policies.

Rory previously practised with City law firm Bird and Bird. Furley Page senior partner, Peter Hawkes, said: " We are delighted that Rory has joined us. His appointment further establishes Furley Page as a firm of specialist solicitors who are able to tackle the most complicated of issues."
