Success with older students

ACCOUNTANCY practice Reeves and Neylan has earned a work experience quality award.

The company, based at St Margaret's Street, Canterbury, provides opportunities for a number of older students in accountancy, marketing and computing. Its work was recognised by Kent and Medway Education Business Alliance, which presents the award to companies and schools throughout the county.

Marketing manager of Reeves and Neylan Julian Glover said: "We tend to attract older students looking for a business-based career. We enjoy having them here and they have a lot to contribute to our company."

The firm's human resources officer Marie Hargreaves added: "Our employees are our greatest asset. Work experience has helped to attract and recruit staff onto our training programmes and to develop management skills of staff who supervise the students."

Managing partner Clive Stevens received the award from chief executive of the Kent Maritime Chamber Anne Peeks at a ceremony on Friday.
