Academy consultation begins

The first public consultation meeting to discuss plans to introduce a third academy to the Medway towns will be held tomorrow, Tuesday.

Medway Council wants to create an academy on the site of New Brompton College, Gillingham, using existing buildings followed by a move later into new, purpose-designed buildings.

If the proposal gets the go ahead it will open in September 2010 for its first Year seven students with students transferring from the existing school.

To find out more or contribute you are invited to attend the meeting at the school in Marlborough Road, from 7pm-8.30pm. Views can also be contributed by completing the consultation document via the Medway Council website www.medway.gov.uk or by writing to Medway Council, Gun Wharf, Dock Road, Chatham, Kent ME4 4TR.
