Accidental overdose killed postman

A YOUNG postman died after accidentally taking an overdose of his flatmate's painkillers, an inquest heard.

Daniel Cole, 25, who suffered from bronchial asthma, had taken the Co-proxamol used by David Ellis for an injured knee.

The inquest heard that Mr Cole, of First Avenue, Chatham, who had gone into a coma and died, had also been drinking.

Mid Kent and Medway Coroner Roger Sykes recorded an accidental death verdict and said: "I am satisfied that he died from Co-proxamol poisoning. He may have taken more perhaps because the original symptoms had not cleared or because he was not fully awake and alert to what he was doing."

Police had investigated the death and were satisfied that nobody else was involved.
