Well done to Key Fixer, tipped a week ago, who won at odds of 3/1 for column readers. I am still awaiting the reappearance of We Never Knew, so keep an eye open for her.

There are some interesting newcomers about to start their racing careers here so as usual the trick is to get on early and get a decent winning price before they become too well known on the card.

I would like to start with Lordsbury Richt who carries the famous prefix of trainer Gemma Davidson’s Lordsbury kennels.

I am anticipating that the dog will start in bottom grade A8, based on his trial sessions, however the dog is clearly open to continued improvement having reduced his times by seven tenths of a second across the three trials. Expect a big run from this pup.

Perrys Nectar comes onto the card at A3 level after recording an impressive 23.60 trial accompanied by a decent sectional time of 3.53 seconds, trap to line.

Looks good enough to figure prominently against the anticipated quality of opposition so every reason for trainer Steve Gammon to await the dog’s first run for him with interest.

I always take note when a new dog beats a recognised graded racer in their trials and such was the case with Black Mix who managed to put four and a half lengths between herself and grader Skelligs Piper at the end of April.

The latter has won in grade A5 before so you would have to say that Black Mix would have a great chance starting at that level and running out of trap one which suits her style of racing.

Finally, Bold Addition may prove to be exactly that to trainer Arun Green’s kennels after winning all three of his grading on trials. The times of 23.97 twice and 23.86 reflect consistency.

Make a note of all three over the next few weeks and hopefully they will produce at least a couple of winners.
