Anti-bombing protest mounted in Kent

A Kent group is mounting a demonstration against the Israeli bombing of Gaza.

Demonstrators will meet tomorrow at noon outside the Royal Victoria Place shopping centre in Tunbridge Wells, following a week of heavy bombardment by the Israelis.

The move, which is part of a national Hands Off Gaza protest, will see supporters mounting a stationary vigil outside the shopping centre to demonstrate their "outrage at the attacks on Gaza."

Local protest organiser, Joshua Carroll, said the group would be calling on the British government to end its support for the Israeli leadership, and pressing for an arms embargo.

Other protests include one at London's Embankment at 12.30pm on the same day.
