Anti-war protestors plan seafront march

HUNDREDS of anti-war protestors are expected to gather at Margate clocktower on Saturday and march along the seafront to the old town market place for a rally.

The rally, organised by members of the Stop the War Coalition, will also feature an open mic platform for speakers to address the marchers.

East Kent spokeswoman Bunny La Roche said: “This is the chance for people in Thanet to stand up and be counted. There is no doubt that plans to attack Iraq do not constitute a just war. It is purely about the American desire to control the Middle East and its oil resources.

“It is criminal that the UK and is prepared to commit billions of pounds on this war when we do not have enough money to properly support our education system, health service, pensioners and students.

“We believe that if the UK follows America into war it will become isolated within Europe.”
