A man has died after being struck by a vehicle which failed to stop in east Kent.

The incident happened at around 11.30pm Friday on the Eastern Esplanade in Cliftonville, near Margate.

The victim suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead on arrival at the town's QEQM Hospital.

The vehicle involved was a light-coloured people carrier and police have urged the driver or anyone with information to contact them on 01622 798539.
