Arson suspected as pub goes up in flames

A DERELICT pub was left in a smouldering mess after a fire at the weekend.

Three fire pumps were called to the scene in Natal Road, Chatham, where the former Edward VII pub was alight at about 2.45am on Saturday.

Firefighters brought the blaze under control and are treating it as suspicious.

The pub has stood empty for some time.
