Aylesford: Police name death crash driver

A 20-YEAR-OLD man from Aylesford, near Maidstone, who died in a three-car collision in West Sussex has been named by police.

Lee Davis, of East Park Road, Royal British Legion Village, Aylesford, was at the wheel of a Rover 216 which was being driven west along the A27, Worthing, when it was in collision with a Mercedes Sprinter van being driven by a 20-year-old man from Hailsham.

A passenger in the Rover was taken to Worthing Hospital with serious injuries and has been transferred to a London hospital.

A man from Hailsham has been arrested and bailed in connection with the incident.

Sgt Phil Nicholas, of the Roads Policing Department at Chichester, is asking for witnesses to the collision, or anybody who may have seen a White Mercedes Sprinter van being driven between Chichester and Worthing, between 4.20am and 5am on Saturday morning, to contact him on 0845 60 70 999, quoting Operation Acacia.
