Big fight on the beach at Leysdown

Four men were taken to hospital on Friday night following a big fight on the beach at Leysdown.

One man was still at Medway Maritime Hospital being treated for non life-threatening injuries to his face on Saturday morning but the other three were treated for cuts and bruises and were released.

All were aged 18-20 and police say they were assaulted by a group of youths.

It happened just before midnight and police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

The police helicopter, Sheppey coastguard, Sheerness lifeboat and the Whitstable lifeboat were all called to the scene because it was originally thought that someone was missing in the water.
