Blaze wrecks terraced home in early hours

FIREFIGHTERS were damping down a terraced house this morning after a blaze in the early hours.

Four engines and twenty officers were called to a fire at the property in Rowden Road, Beckenham, at 5.40am.

It took an hour to extinguish and caused 60 per cent damage to the first floor and 10 per cent to the roof.

A London Fire Brigade spokesman said it had received no reports of injuries and that the fire is under investigation.
