Body found on industrial estate

A body was discovered by the first workers on site at Pivington Mill, an industrial estate near Pluckley, this morning.

A man’s body was found on the ground near the cafe at about 7am.

Ian Burton, who had driven from his home in Essex to deliver training at Swift Surfacing, a company based at Pivington Mill, was on his way to buy his breakfast when he came across the body.

He said: “I going to get a bacon butty.

“I thought it was a dummy as all I could see was a pair of boots,” Mr Burton said.

Police have cordoned off the area and forensics teams have been investigating.

Officers have not released any further details.
