Bomb hoax woman jailed

A Kent woman who threatened to blow up the Houses of Parliament has been jailed for eight months.

But less than three weeks later on Monday she made another call to police making similar threats towards the House of Parliament in Westminster.

The 49-year-old pleaded guilty at Sevenoaks Magistrates' Court yesterday to communicating false information.

Magistrates invoked her suspended sentence of 120 days and handed Lang a further jail term of 120 days in prison.

DCI Jon Bumpus, from Kent Police,said: “Not only do bomb hoaxes create fear and alarm, they are also a huge waste of time and money for emergency services.

"We take incidents like this extremely seriously and we will do everything we can to locate and arrest those responsible. I hope this time in prison will enable Jessica Lang to reflect on the irresponsible nature of her actions.”
