An unselfish piece of play from Andy Pugh helped Welling get back to winning ways in Blue Square Bet South on Tuesday.

Pugh took advantage of a defensive error to go clean through on goal after Lee Clarke's through ball and then set up strike partner Luis Cumbers (pictured) for a simple tap-in within seconds of the start of the second half.

Welling dominated thereafter with Loick Pires and Pugh both going close before the former was denied by home keeper Elvijs Putnins.

Pires was back in the starting line-up, along with Graeme Andrews, as Joe Healy and Jamie Coyle were both left on the bench.

Welling had the best of the chances in the first half with Lee Clarke seeing his shot turned over.

Wings on-loan keeper Mitchell Walker kept his first clean sheet for the club as his defence held firm after a late rally from the home side.
