Boy in road incident fights for life

A BOY of 11 is fighting for his life after he was in collision with a car.

Police say the youngster was critically injured yesterday afternoon on a stretch of road in Mottingham, Bromley, which claimed the life of 16-year-old Alex Ludlow last September.

It is believed the latest casualty was trying to catch a bus at around 3.30pm in Elmstead Lane when he collided with a black Volkeswagon.

The boy was taken by ambulance to Royal London University and then transferred to Great Ormond Street.

He was not responding to treatment at the scene and remains in a life-threatening condition.

Police closed Elmstead Lane until 7.53pm as accident investigation work took place.

Alex Ludlow, a pupil at Eltham College, died after colliding with a car on September 22 last year.
